MOSCOW, May 7 (PRIME) -- Russia’s largest children goods retailer Detsky Mir is considering entering the market of Belarus including purchasing a local company, Kommersant business daily reported on Monday citing sources familiar with the retailer’s plans.
Detsky Mir has recently considered renting spaces in Belarusian malls, one of the sources said.
Director of the brokerage department of Colliers International in Belarus Andrei Alyoshkin said that buying a local player might be the best strategy to enter the market. Local children goods retailer Buslik is the only large company similar to Detsky Mir.
One of the sources said that Buslik had earlier made a sales offer to the Russian company.
Representatives of both retailers have declined to comment.
